Jamaican Jerk Burgers are as simple as they sound! With just a few ingredients you’ll take an American favorite and give it a Jamaican twist. There’s no need for a bunch of ingredients. Readymade jerk seasonings usually come in spicy or mild varieties, and include all the ingredients you need except maybe the salt. For this recipe you can either grill or pan fry the burgers. Add even more exotic island flavor by serving with a side of one of Chef Irie’s superbly un-boring salads.
This grilled Jerk Pork recipe uses Jerk Seasoning made from scratch. You can use the Jerk Seasoning recipe already posted on the site, or if you’d like to avoid the extra steps go ahead and use a pre-made moist jerk seasoning to ensure the flavor really soaks into the meat. Remember, you use a dry seasoning when you want more of a char or crust on thinner cuts. You’ll use a marinade or moist rub when you want the flavor to get deep into the depths of your meat and don’t require a crispy outside.
Jerk Chicken Wings are not a traditional Jamaican dish, but with the popularity of wings as an appetizer they’ve become a welcome addition to our cadre of delicious Jerk recipes. For this baked Jerk Chicken Wings recipe you can take the easy route and add a little salt and moist jerk seasoning. You can also make it all from scratch with this alternate recipe from Chef John. Great for Father’s Day or any event where you need an island inspired app.
