  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbs water
  • 1 tbs granulated sugar

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Preheat oven to 400F.

  4. Repeat with the guava paste placing on top of cheese.
  5. Beat together egg and water to make a wash, then brush onto the exposed areas of the puff pastry. This will help to seal the dough.
  6. Lay the second sheet of puff pastry directly over the first, using your fingers or a smooth edged kitchen tool to press together the seams and edges.
  7. Brush the top of the pastry with the egg wash, use a knife to poke a hole in the top of each mound, then sprinkle with the granulated sugar.
  8. Bake on the top rack of oven for 25 – 30 minutes or until pastry is golden brown.
  9. Allow to cool for 10 – 15 minutes before cutting into 15 pieces with a pizza cutter. Serve and enjoy your delicious guava pastry!
