3. Curried Conch

Curried Conch Meat is a spicy, exotic, savory dish which is pretty common in seaside areas throughout islands, especially the Bahamas, and Trinidad and Tobago. In this recipe, the conch is tenderized before cooking so that the result is soft and succulent. Click here for the Curried Conch recipe.

4. Cuban-Style Lobster:

This recipe includes Cuban sofrito (a traditional sauce made of garlic, Spanish onions and green bell peppers cooked in olive oil) and the salty bite of a good Spanish chorizo (spicy, paprika cured pork sausage). It’s not as complex as a paella, but this definitely isn’t your usual American-style lobster-dipped-in-butter either. The lobster meat is sauteed together with the sausage and seasonings for a taste that could be called – the Latin Caribbean in a single bite. Get the recipe for Cuban-Style Lobster here.

5. Puerto Rican Stewed Crab:

This crab dish is prepared with Puerto Rican sofrito which is prepared similarly to Cuban sofrito, but includes ingredients such as red and green cubanelle peppers, red bell peppers, yellow onion, garlic and plum tomatoes. Puerto Rican stewed crab is usually served alongside rice or fried plantains, and is another delicious recipe to try. Click here for the Puerto Rican Stewed Crab recipe.
