A Cuban sauteed meat mixture, Picadillo is delicious on its own, served over rice, or as a filling in Cuban empanadas. This fast and easy recipe is a perfect dish if you need to whip up something tasty and filling quickly, or if you have company and would like to spend more time visiting than cooking.
- 1 lb. ground lean Beef or Turkey
- 1 large Onion, chopped
- 2-3 cloves Garlic, chopped
- 1 small (8 oz.) can Tomato Sauce
- 1/4 cup Dry White Wine
- Pimiento-Stuffed Olives to taste, chopped
- Raisins to taste
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the meat, onions, and garlic. Sauté until the meat is browned.
- Reduce the heat to medium-low. Add the tomato sauce and wine. Simmer for a few minutes.
- Add the pimiento stuffed olives, raisins, and salt and pepper to taste. Continue to simmer until the meat is cooked through.
- Serve over hot white rice.
